One of the most active areas of research within the LPRU at present is the study of recurrent motifs in Decline-era artworks. Sculptures of huddled or embracing beings have been found in preservative vats from all corners of the Lye Planet. Reproduced here are examples recovered from four different vats.

The sculptures are currently undergoing extensive restoration; these images were captured by an experimental device used to photograph potentially fragile artefacts from inside the vats.
